Road tripping it to Oklahoma to run the Phoenix through some hog "testing". Should be a great time. Will take plenty of photos & hopefully some video footage too.

Good luck guys!!! I would be joining you for sure but I have all my play money tied up in the elk hunt coming up the end of next month.
I'm sure you guys will have a blast, and I know the Phoenix will completely devistate any hog unlucky enough to get within range of you guys. I can't wait to see the pics and hopefully some cool videos.

Alright, here we go, enough teasing.
The trip was really good. Meeting Stan(Red Feather Archery) and Travis(Okie) was exceptional and made the trip worthwhile. Thank you Stan for being such a down to earth person who has a passion for this stuff. The Phoenix has got it going on!!! Travis, you are no different in person than you are on here. You are a good person and showed your true colors this past weekend. It was a blast talking with you and hanging out for a couple of days. Hope to do it again sometime. BHT community - these two individuals that I just mentioned are seriously stand up characters. They have huge hearts and made me feel as if we have known each other for years. If you are ever blessed with the opportunity to meet these two, take advantage. Equally as important, they can both shoot the lights out, you should see Stan with the string & stick. OK, now on to the hunt. I don't have much time, so I'll post more later. I am sure Stan and Travis will post pics of their own and add to the storyline. We had a great time, and everyone left with a kill, but not all hogs. Stan and I took hogs, Okie wasted a turkey, and my buddy shot a Ram(non Phoenix broadhead). Here are some pics, sorry they are not the best pics. I don't have a picture of Okie's bird, maybe he'll post it. I also got my hog on video, although the lighting conditions weren't the best, I think you guys will like it. It will be a few days before I can get it on here, so only the pics for now. Stan's hog ![]() My hog ![]() ![]() Wound pics to come.......

Once again I find myself sitting in the Denver airport. Here's a little more of the story. First off, I'm blessed to have a couple of guys like Steve and Travis on staff with RFA. Couldn't ask for better guys to represent what we are about. These guys "get it" when it comes to hunting and hanging out. Would've been worth the trip had I not taken a shot.
As to the shooting, I am BY FAR the worst shot in the group. I learned a lot watching these guys and Steve's buddy, Mark, who can also flat out shoot. Hunting was tough at this time of year, but everyone on the trip managed to shoot something. The highlight was probably the hog Steve shot and the video that accompanied it. Simply awesome! I also have some video of Travis killing frying pans that is pretty cool. ![]() Heads preformed just like I knew they would. My shot was not ideal, but the bloodtrail was short and easy to follow. Not nearly as short as Steve's though... ![]() Really enjoyed hunting at the River View Ranch with Keith and Jason who are two down to earth guys. More later when I get home. |
