Default I need your help!

I'm getting ready to make another run on broadheads, this time on 125 grains and I've got two thoughts. One is to keep the profile of our 100 grain head and go non-vented. The other is to go with a longer profile and keep the vents. So, which would you 125 shooters prefer? Thanks.

I say larger profile with vents. The less material you have to push through an animal the better, IMO. Plus, those vents will act like scallops or a bloodline on a knife blade allowing not only less suction, equaling ease of penetration, but also better blood flow as it passes through.

Is there enough material that you could keep the same profile but do slightly smaller vents???

Again, just my opinion.

I think for a strength factor no holes would be a bonus, but I can definitely see highballs points being valid as well. I can't really offer up much help sorry Stan, I don't shoot 125's so I don't think I should really contribute to much in the lines of that. I have always just gone with bigger inserts in the arrows.

Vented are good, but be shure they do not whistle, especially on high speed bows. It will take some more work in testing prototypes, unless you can make angled edges on the vents...
Hope this helps.

Stan...after testing the prototype Phoenix (which was solid) I really like how the non-vented heads worked out....

I know it sickled thru that hog really good....

I think non vented would be nice. The blade profile seems perfect now. No vents to me equals stronger head. If anything small vents.
