Winner selected. I'm conversing with Stan about the prize package. Details to come soon. A huge thank you to those that participated, I wish there would have been more interest.

I'm locking the thread for now.

Had a chance to talk this over with Steve and he drew a name from a hat and the winner is...Roosclan's son! I'll shoot you a PM and you can give me your name and address and we'll get a little package set up and ready to roll for you. Thanks to all that participated and remember to get the kids involved!

Incredible! He was understandably excited. His response was "Awesome! I've got broadheads!"

Thank you so much for doing this! He's my archery addict, so now he has more incentive to excercise to get strong enough to pull 45# by next October, and practice, practice, practice! If he can make it to 45# by then (the minimum weight in KS) and is accurate enough to hit a deer out to 20yds, I'll take him hunting this year on the small spot of land I've managed to secure for next season.

BuckFeverLodge, your generosity is amazing! What a great way to pay it forward and keep the spirit of bowhunting alive in our future generation. Thank you so much!

The prize package arrived today! I didn't realize that it included Talons as well. He was excited, to say the least. He immediately ran and grabbed a couple arrows to mount a Phoenix and a Talon to see how they fit (good, obviously, but hey). The shirt is a little big, so I might have to umm... borrow it until he grows into it.

roosclan - outstanding pic. Glad to see the young man was happy. I talked Stan into throwing in the Talons. If he can't use the Phoenix this year, he certainly can make use of the Talons. He will have a blast shooting that Talon at all sorts of stuff. Watch out for your car/truck door (just ask Okie101).

Tell Brendan congrats from the Broadheadtalk members, and from Red Feather Archery. We are all excited that he is pumped up about archery. Glad we could fuel the fire.

Steve

I just might have to hit the garage sales this weekend to find a cheap skillet or something to shoot at. I doubt his bow is strong enough right now to punch through it, but I won't have to worry about him damaging field points. Damage to the arrows is of some concern to me, but I could be just paranoid about that (of course, we have plenty of logs to shoot, so we might go that route also).

If he doesn't get strong enough to hunt this year, I just might have to put the Phoenix on my arrows next to my SilverFlame XLs (and maybe some RFA 2-blade heads!) so I have more than one choice when I'm hunting (which reminds me, I need to go purchase the sharpening jig...).

Hey Patrick, that pic just made my whole week! You guys enjoy the time you'll be spending together outdoors with your bows! Thanks again to Steve for paying it forward.

He sure looks happy, hopefully he will get to use those talons and Phoenix heads this year.
I have not broke an arrow yet on hard hits but that is not saying it can't happen, I use .300 spine arrows though and I have not seen too many of them break ever.

Right now he just has some Beman Hunter Jr. arrows, so I don't think those are quite as strong. He's not shooting with an 82lb draw weight, either...

The bemans are a good arrow, they are just re branded easton arrows. You should not have any issues with them. And he definitely looks like he is enjoying it.
