Rabbits Out West -

Yesterday my buddies son, Garrett and his friend, Connor, went with me to Central Oregon for a rabbit hunt. We saw a couple dozen rabbits and were able to get a Talon in three of them. Had a great time, and was able to hang out with a couple of great kids. I've known Garrett for just about his whole life and had both fellas as students when they were in middle school. Great to watch them grow up.

Here's a pic of the first rabbit entry hole. We pulled the fur back to show the wound, it doesn't look like this when you hit them.

Here's the exit hole.

Here's me with my prize.

Here's one that Garrett got with a great shot from his longbow. He's a natural.

Here's one of us together at the end of the day with three bunnies. All in all, a great time.

Stan, it looks like you guys had a great time!I would have done that over coming up and shooting the Athens too! Its always nice to go afield with some young hunters and show them what it is all about! Congrats and thanks for passing it on!

Took the kids out last night Stan......no luck...

I did shoot the Talon at a old pick-up door we had out in the pasture and blew right thru it....kids loved it...

That's cool, Travis. Did the Talon get damaged going through the door? Nothing better than chasing critters with the kids

Since you asked.....here ya go Stan...I will post it here...it was a rainy day so sorry if pics weren't that good

11 shots.....4 arrows.... and one Talon ....versus F150

The rig.....Athens accomplice....goofy guy....Talon

10 shots thru the door

back side of door

1 shot thru front windshield

where it went thru the windshield and thru the back of the seat

here is what the Talon looks like after the shots....one tip broke on the one shot thru the windshield which was an angled shot

Pretty tuff head IMO

Hey Travis, thanks for the test. That's awesome. Do you know if the tip broke on the windshield hit, or on something behind the seat? I will have to run some more tests of my own on angled hits. Thanks again for taking the time to post the pics, way cool.

Buck.....you bet it was a blast..

Stan.....the tip broke going thru the windshield....and I shot it into the door 3 more times after that....

I was waiting to see if you would post up here or on AT....Dave

The Ford was the only pickup strong enough to take on the Talon...which shows ya how tuff the talon is.... any others would'nt have made a good review.....

Touché my friend! Though you won't find any Chevys in the junkyard, they are still on the road! ; None the less great bit of testing there! LOL!!!

How's the hog hunt planning going?
