i was wondering if these heads will get good enough penetration on an elk .im am using a black widow pch recurve 52# @28 wich is at my draw length.the heads look like they would get good penetration as long as they are good and sharp.thanks for your input.

All of the Simmons heads are known for penetration and awesome arrow flight. Both stemming from the concave edge. The concave edge allows for less planing surface. Which in turn allows me to make a head that is very wide but flys like a much smaller head. Also because of the lack of surface area. It has less drag which allows for deeper penetration.
Ill give you the same guarantee that Mr. Jerry gave almost 40 years ago....These heads will out penetrate any head plus or minus 10 grs. or Ill buym back from you! As you can guess...I'm not in the business of buying heads back. So Im fairly certain that they'll do their job. As far as elk go... Ive killed two bulls in the past two years both with complete penetration out of a 53# longbow (neither animal went more than 50 yrds after hit). I shot both of them with the 175 gr. Tigershark which is a shortened, Lighter version of the interceptor. Meaning the Interceptor with its 3:1 ratio should be a better penetrating head. Thanks for your interest! God Bless, Dave |
