Default Slick Trick Standards on Tennessee Whitetails

I am going to give Slick Trick Standards a try this season on whitetails here in my home state of Tennessee. Our deer are typically under 150 lbs. I like to get maximum penetration and I am getting 70 lbs KE out of my Z7 Magnum. Will the standards be a good choice to get max penetration and good blood trails?? Should I choose a better option?

if you get a double lung shot, i would think that animal is going down period. if you put one through the boiler room, a field point would do the trick from the wound channels ive seen from the slicks, id say you have nothing to worry about. you could probably go with a larger one though if you're shooting a Z7, like the mag or grizz i would i think anyway. just my .02$

My thought process is with my set up I could go bigger like the Mags or Grizz Tricks or simply just blow through every deer with the Standards.

UT,
Just remember that if you would like to go to the Magnums that all you have to do is get Magnum replacement blades. The Ferrules between those two heads are the exact same in their respected weights(100 and 125).

True Tony,

I tell a lot of guys to get the std's and get a set of magnum replacement blades and they can change as they need them.

UTGRad,

The std's will give you straight line penetration with an over all 2 inch cut (slug size) wound channel.

Enjoy them tricks

I put some fresh standard blades on my ferrules and can't wait to go after whitetails. These things are going to blow through some hide!

I'm sticking with the Standards...I upgraded to a Mathews Monster MR6 shooting a 370 grain arrow 320 fps for 84 lbs KE. I should definatelty get excellent penetration with the Standards and this set up lol!

I have made my final decision and will be shooting the Standards tomorrow. Even though I am getting 85 lbs KE, I like the penetration of the Standards!
