Two KS does SOB'd with review
Though I have been involved with a lot of the testing and R&D with Steelforce, I finally got a chance to run one thru a deer this weekend. After testing them on some FL hogs, I suspected the SOB would prove to be a near perfect head for whitetails and got to see the confirmation first hand.
My doe took one broadside and buried way deep into the dirt and rocks after passing thru and breaking ribs on both sides with a resounding thump heard. She went 50 yards and down. 20 minutes later I handed my bow to my cameraman and took the camera to video him shooting a doe of his own. His was slightly quarting to and also buried way deep into the dirt. She went maybe 20 yards before stopping, looking around and then falling.
Blood trails were very good, though not needed. The holes were what impressed me the most. The SOB's don't leave a 4 blade "slit" they seem to open up a blocky hole that doesn't have muscle closing in on itself. In both cases, blood where the deer fell was incredible.
I have loved my Phatheads but think I have a new favorite whitetail broadhead!
Pix to follow.
