Default Dec 2nd Phathead Non-Typical

I set up on a doe bedding area and caught this guys chasing some yearling does. One of the does ran directly under my tree and blew as I drew my bow , leaving him held up behind a big tree with only neck and tail showing. After he gave that tail shake for the 3rd time I knew I was gonna take the neck shot or watch him walk away from me back into a tangled mess, so I took it and the Phathead SOB did more than I could've expected. He went 40 yds and fell over in sight. I actually cut my finger trying to pull the heart out cause it was sticking in it about an inch. This makes the 3rd deer this year that didn't make it 40 yards before giving up the ghost.

Are the antlers pictured on the green background from the same deer? For some reason they look smaller.

Yes they are the same rack. Thats just poor lighting and my phone camera, and I was trying to have my 3yo help me hold them so I really didn't get a good angle either. I was just trying to show the mass ( I know that much mass is common for most of the people on this forum but not for southern deer)

Its funny how much light effects a rack........looks at the pic of the deer laying in leaves when I walked up on him compared to the grrn background pic. First one is bleach white, the next one looks like chocolate horns.

Because everyone around this area still has that mentallity that "if I don't shoot that spike my neighbor will" , which is funny because none of my neighbors have seen the other 220lb+ stud that I've seen , nor the other 5-8 2.5 and 3.5 yo bucks I've let walk this year,
