Default ...Swacker durability....

...got this in a PM from another talk forum.....

..true or false?

Shot several deer with them....good exit wounds and short blood trails...The quality control on the swhackers are not what they used to be when they were made by sonoran. They are outsourcing the parts (to China Im sure) to try to save some $$$ and it has hurt there product. Blades are not as sharp and the ferrel is not near as strong. They are pretty much a one shot broadhead. Ferrel bends almost everytime. Never had a problem when they were sonorans. I switched to the titanium rage heads this year. I was never a fan of the aluminum rage heads, but the titaniums are awesome. Very tough built head. I've shot 3 P&Y bucks this years and have got pass throughs on all three. All three heads got replacement blades and were good to go back in the quiver. They are expensive, but will last you a long time. I think there is better choices out there, but that is my opinion. I hope this helps.

Only shot mine at a deer once but no damage. The blades did get dull cutting rib bones on exit so I resharpened them. One tip curled just a tad and I straightened it, but it doesn't matter in this setup. No ferrel damage that I can see. The chisel point may have lost a touch of sharpness.

I have no complaints and will use again.

...picked up 3 from the store.....design looks good speaking as an engineer.
I also bought the blade sharpener....I have a G5 Sharpener but did not want to change the angle on it.

....cannot wait to drive one of these BH's thru an Ohio WT deer!!

They'll get the job done as long as you do your part. Oh, post entrance and exit wound pics when you get one.

I have had the ferrel pinch down in the middle on an antelope, and when testing in the backyard if you shoot a piece of plywood the thickness like they show in the commercials but straight broadside with the blades fully open they pinch down everytime. I know that isn't how they are designed to be used, but had to try it. I think the ferrel gets some strength from the blades when they are closed. They also plane bad when the blades are open too. But these bh fly like my fieldpoints when closed, which they are everytime when used properly. Also the blades are tough as nails just need some resharpening and they are ready to go once again.
