Hello, new to the site....
New to the world of traditional Archery also (5 weeks)... I was just curious on everyone's thoughts of using the Phat Head with traditional gear... I like the design, have heard some good things about them...just would like some experienced users' insight on the pros and cons ...if any on the 125 grain models... Thanks to all...this looks like an awesome sight with tons of knowledge and experience here to learn... |

Welcome to the site, gooseman, and welcome to traditional bowhunting. What's your set up? The Steel Force Phat head is an excellent broadhead, but depending on draw weight you might also consider a broadhead with a higher mechanical advantage (longer narrower design for better penetration). I can highly recommend Muzzy Phantoms and Magnus Stingers.

Hey gooseman, sorry for the delay, out elk hunting and just climbed a mountain and got cell service. You would probably be fine with the Phat Head from your set up, but if you want a little insurance from your broadhead choice check out the Steel force traditional line. Excellent broadheads as well. Decisions, decisions...

No elk yet, but not for lack of trying
![]() Any of the broadheads listed above will be great for your bow in my opinion. I have shot just about all of the "traditional" heads on the market in the last 20 years and you really can't go wrong with Steel Force, Magnus or Muzzy. Quality broadheads from quality companies. |
