Just wondering what percentage of turkey bow hunters are using the huge turkey heads like Magnus Bullhead, Turkey Guillotine or more typical BH like Steelforce Phathead, Magnus Buzzcut?
I have been trying Magnus Bullhead 125gr. I seem to be good only to about 15 yds where I never miss. Using 5" feathers on a tuned Z7 and have good arrow flight. I love the "head chop" idea for fast recovery and no wasted meat but I'm starting to wonder if I should stick with regular BH where I know I can hit a fist sized target at 30yds every time. If it holds still... I'm hunting out of a Double Bull w/ decoys at 7 yds and I'm planning to carry both right now. Nock the Bullhead and if I have a tom that is hanging out 20 to 30 yds away and not coming into the decoys I will re-nock a 100gr Steelforce. Last edited by develobear; 04-05-2011 at 08:50 PM. I bowhunt turkeys with recurve bows and I use the same type of broadhead for turkeys as I do with whitetail deer, mule deer, small feral hogs and javelina. With that said, I use a shaving sharp 2 blade broadhead like the Magnus screw in Stinger 125s when I'm shooting my aluminum 2212s or for a very heavy arrow setup when I'm shooting my aluminum 2117s, a glue on STOS 130 grain 2 blade.
