Default Turkey Tearrors

Was pretty pumped to fling Tearrors at some turkeys this spring but got to reading some reviews on different sites and heard some pretty scary review. Heard some people talking about glancing off shots, one inch penetration at 20 yards, blades coming out, one shot and done. On the flip side i read some about lots of internal bleeding and dead on contact. Has anyone had any experiences with these or heard good/bad about them?

I have wondered about these as well, but I think I'm going to stick with G5. I think the T3 is going to bag some birds this spring!

I have never used them, but I have read the reviews and didn't hear alot of good about them. I guess you'll have that with any broadhead, look at the great Rage debate that is always going on. You have 50 guys that say Rage broadheads are junk and 50 more saying they are the best broadhead you can buy. Maybe before turkey season Andy and Booner will test some of the Turkey heads available or let Ike and myself test some so everybody can see how they perform and if any of the specialty "turkey" heads are better than a standard Muzzy or G5 or whatever head you may prefer.

That would be awesome. I would like to see some shots for the Tearrors like what was done with the grim reapers on the hard angles. Multiple reviews were saying things about when they didn't hit a squared off target, they would glance or only penetrate an inch because the blades would catch on the entry hole.

If I get some to test I will make sure to try some angle shots with them. The glancing shots and poor penetration were the biggest complaint I have heard about the Tearrors.

from what i gathered today from some other people i talked with, the tearrors and the jackhammers both have the issue of penetration that could be fixed with more arrow weight but there are still a lot of questions in my mind.

Default Turkey Tearrors Test

DR. Love (Sweet Name), Briarsdad and myself did a test on these today while performing other test on separate broad heads. We first took t pieces of carpet and stuck a milk jug full of water in between them; shot it a 2 diff rent angles, 30 degrees and straight on. Both times the arrow went through flawless and left a nice hole in the carpet, no deflection problems; the head was still in great shape so we went for a destruction test on it. We took a piece of 3/4" plywood and shot it at a 30 degree angle to see if we could get it to deflect, it hit the board and penetrated all the way through. I have the pictures and I will post below, but in my opinion I am going to order 3 more for turkey season from broadheadshed.com for the upcoming season. Test parameters: Athens Accomplice 34" set @74#; Easton Axis ST 400; 20 yard shots; one Turkey Tearror used for all shots.
Well I am having problems getting in to my photo bucket account, so I will post pictures of my results later tonight or tomorrow.

Yeah, Booner it has. I just had to test these out after talking with Briarsdad about what he has read on these, I didn't want to fill the quiver with these and something happen when that ol Tom walks in. After the results from yesterday I have doubt about the performance of these heads.

I also did some test to compare a G5 Montec 100grain, to a 100 grain Muzzy 3 blade. I will get all these pictures up once I can get my photo bucket account to work.

Here are the picture of the Tearror that I did a test on the other day. The first one is the destructive test shot at a 30 degree angle with no deflection. The rest of the pictures are from shooting it a milk jug with carpet on both sides, the broad head did great. The last photo is the used tearror along side a new one.

Hopefully BloodBath will chime in with his results using these heads. To say they do damage & put birds down is an understatement
